A PowerFlex 40P Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is the Allen-Bradley 22D-D4P0N104. This VFD can operate in the 342–528 VAC input voltage range in three phases, with a 4.0 A motor output and 1.5 kW (2.0 HP) of power. A member of the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 40P AC drive family is the 22D-D4P0N104. It has 3-phase AC power @ 480 volts, 4 amps, 1.5 kW, and 2 horsepower. With category 3 safe torque-off, it can be used for closed-loop control. It has a small, adaptable design and is reasonably priced. Applications including fiber spinning machines, packaging machines, and diverters can benefit from easier control over their motor speeds thanks to this drive.
Among the many useful characteristics of the 22D-D4P0N104 drive are its two partially and five fully programmable digital inputs, one analog input/output, one programmable relay, and two configurable outputs. For simple installation, a panel mounting is included. It is shielded against solid objects as small as 12 millimeters in size by an IP20 open enclosure. For added environmental protection, there is also an optional IP30 conversion kit available. A 4-digit display and Drive Tools SP software are included with the 22D-D4P0N104 for programming and configuration. Its RS-485 communication port allows it to be used over great distances, even in loud environments.
For enhanced control versatility, the 22D-D4P0N104 drive boasts an LCD keypad, sensorless vector control, V/Hz, and a NEMA/UL Type 4X remote. The MOV can be grounded to operate on unground systems. Its built-in brake resistors allow for dynamic braking and are reasonably priced. In addition, the drive has transient protection, motor overload, and ground fault protection. The 22D-D4P0N104 drive uses Logix controls to ease parameter and tag programming applications, which cuts down on development time. It is used in the automobile, textile, and beverage sectors.
